Katherine Grass of Amadeus Ventures grills the teams

IE Venture Network’s new series of Verticals kicked off with a bang on Thursday night as over 150 investors, entrepreneurs, faculty and students packed into Area 31 to attend the Travel and Tourism Vertical.

A strong line-up of teams featuring Hotetec from Parcbit, Mallorca, MyTwinPlace from Wayra, Madrid and Oviceversa presented and fielded questions from a demanding expert panel featuring Katherine Grass, head of Amadeus Ventures, Joe Haslam, Chairman of Hot Hotels, Antonio Lopez de Avila, President of Seggitur as well as IE’s very own Liz Fleming.

While some of these teams contain seasoned veterans, all are aware of the need for receptiveness to feedback and different viewpoints and professed to benefit greatly from the experience. Certainly none of the three teams nor indeed anyone else in the audience was left with any doubt as to the importance of a well formed mobile strategy!

IE also announced the topic for their next Vertical which will be focused on Cloud Computing and Cyber Security which will take place at the end of April so watch out for the call for applications and spread the word!
