The Event
by Kyle Fiore, IE Venture Network Community Manager
The IE Venture Network honored the entrepreneurial women all over Europe by hosting the first official “Girls night” and celebrating the wonderful achievements of three incredible women running their own companies.
On January 12th, the IE Venture Network had a very special session in collaboration with Women Entrepreneurship in Europe – an alliance between Siemens and IE Business School created to promote successful entrepreneurship among young women in Europe.
The session began with a very special announcement by Patricia Gabaldon from IE who officially launched the “Women entrepreneurship in Europe” grants for young female students with a technical background offered in partnership with Siemens. Following the exciting announcement, the IE Venture Network got underway with some of its most exciting projects to date. The projects presented were very diverse and were met with great interest by not only the Venture capitalists present, but the audience as well.
First up was Politia, a company that created a communication and information management platform in order to revolutionize the way police stations interact with each other across Spain. The second company was IDK factory that literally created an “in-the box” solution to team building at all levels and to close out the night, Tedcas presented their solution to the spread of germs and diseases amongst staff and doctors in hospitals using Kinect technology.
All in all, it was a great night with over sixty people in attendance at IE Business School. IE Venture Network is constantly looking for budding entrepreneurs to come and present their ideas at the event so if you are an entrepreneur, please feel free to send us your ideas at the contact information below.
About the Venture Network
The Venture Network has a main objective of providing resources and advice for entrepreneurs and innovation communities. Updated and useful feedback and conversations are one of our main missions in order to create a connection among the initial entrepreneurs and the potential investors and consolidated companies and make future dreams come true. All this in a friendly environment with some drinks and snacks to share it.
Face to face contact and meeting give the opportunity to work together and inspire confidence in these kinds of risky and underfunded projects. Also Venture Network is settled in a framework with a great variety of developed and launched applications and contacts.
It is scheduled that each Thursday there will be a meeting with investors of different profile types who has a broad experience in different fields and are delighted to be able to have a talk with all you about your particular interests and ambitions in a warm and relaxed environment.
